Soldier Sacrifice (This Land Is Yours)

Story Behind The Song

The story is simple. I am an American Soldier, and I'm proud of what I do to serve and defend my country. My pride in serving The United States of America can be heard in my music, and in the pride I have each and every time I wear the uniform of this great land. Maj. Stephen F. Caravana USAR

Song Description

I wrote Soldier Sacrifice (This Land Is Yours) as a wake up call to all Americans, to consider all that we have, and the reasons why we are such a Blessed Nation. It is our men and women in uniform that ensure that we remain a free nation, and that the tragedies of 911 never befall this great nation again. Parents need to teach their children exactly why they are able to enjoy their freedom, and the luxuries that a free nation provides to all of its' citizens. There is no greater honor that an American can exact from his or her country, than to defend her in a time of need. Freedom's Never Free, and many have served and sacrificed so that others could remain free, safe, and live in liberty.

Lyrics

"Soldier Sacrifice (This Land Is Yours)"
Words and Music by Stephen Caravana

1. Tonight I read the news again
Another soldier?s life was lost
And yet you sit there
With a blind eye to the truth
You cannot see what freedom costs
You say you love this land
But are you really sure
It?s what you do not what you say
Your country needs your hand

Chorus:

This land is yours
This land is mine
So hold her closely now
While we have the time
And teach your children now
It?s not too late
That sacrifice is what made
This country great

Instrumental:

(repeat chorus)

2. Tonight I read the news again
To many soldier?s lives were lost
And yet you sit there
With a blind eye to the truth
You still can?t see what freedom cost
You say you love this land
But I?m not really sure
It?s what you do not what you say
You?re country needs your hand

This land is yours
This land is mine
So hold her closely now
While we have the time
And teach your children now
It?s not too late
That sacrifice is what made
This country great (Repeat two more times and end)
