Description

Short Description of Song

A song about those times when you don't want to be woken up from a dream.

Long Description of Song

This song is somewhat persuasive in nature-- the singer knows that what she is dreaming about is better than what actually is in this relationship and wants to be able to project these "wonderful things" into real life. If that isn't possible, then maybe it's better to just stay asleep and dreaming.

Story Behind the Song

At the time when I wrote this song, I had my eye on someone who was giving me mixed messages, and I kind of knew deep down that it wasn't going to go anywhere. I found that in this case it was simply better for him to exist in my dreams, which was decidedly much more pleasant.

Lyrics

If I want to teach you
How to not lose
How to keep moving on
From a time when all your hope is gone
Keep moving on, keep dreaming on

Chorus:
So tell me what to believe
'Cause I'm beginning to think
And show me what you're feeling
'Cause I feel like this was just a dream
Oh can't you see, don't wake me
Let me stay fast asleep
And dreaming of wonderful things

And look no further than me
You will see all of your dreams
Take my hand, let go of your plans
Find out where you want to begin
Keep moving on, keep dreaming on

-Chorus-

Bridge:
And I want to need you
And I've got to
Find out how to do it right
This time

-Chorus-
