Story Behind The Song
i originally wrote the song about a father/son relationship...they just couldn't talk any more without ending up in an arguement...the son eventually drank himself to death at 16 years old. The song, however, applies to all relationships. I used to sing this in small intimate clubs and most people thought it was about lovers...many listeners who were going through tough times would come back again and again and ask me to play this tune...they found comfort in it...even through the sadness...
