Description

Short Description of Song

An anthem for artists everywhere who wrok day jobs.

Long Description of Song

An anthem for artists everywhere who wrok day jobs and use virtually every penny to support their art, and the art of close friends.

Story Behind the Song

I opened the "pre-production" studio in my home to local area musicians who can't afford studio time, to get studio quality demos together with a little artwork. When I began working vicious overtime at my day job, I'd leave them keys to let themselves in

Double Indemnity
All words and music by Eve L. Rantzer

Dedicated to every artist, in every corner of the world, who has had to work a day job to stay alive.

1.
We were marked, musicians and poets,
Slaves, we fled,
Running North in a a maelstrom of bullets and cameras,
At the borders left for dead;
You slipped into a mountain pass, I took the river track,
Separated by fire, telepathic by night,
We can never regret,
We can never go home or look back.

CHORUS

Double indemnity,
Did you kill and kill again before they searched,
No one saw you leave the scene,
Flying will set you free,
When you've sung from every mountain, if they find you,
Don't let them clip your wings,
Don't let them take you -

2.
Prisoners all, sculptors and painters, Native Sons,
Thrown in cells by an army of bankers and savages,
Forgotten and unsung,
The ones still alive in the night are all we can save,
But I swear to the ones shut away in the dark
We will come for you, guns blazing fire in the dawning,
Be brave.

CHORUS

Double indemnity,
Did you kill and kill again before they searched,
No one saw you leave the scene,
Flying will set you free,
When you've sung from every mountain, if they find you,
Don't let them clip your wings;

Double indemnity,
Did you kill and kill again before they searched,
No one saw you in the sky,
Flying will set you free,
When you've sung from every mountain,
Kiss me once, take my dreams and say good-bye....

Don't let them take you -
ALIVE
