Story Behind The Song
This song is a bit of a departure from my usual sonic landscapes, which are generally filled with electronic sounds and world instruments. The basic theme was written in the Seattle area on cold, rainy January in 2003, when I was reminiscing about the warm summers of my youth in the south. Follow the rhythm and melody of the electric piano and you should be able to picture a dancing firefly seeking romance on a warm summer night in Savannah.
Song Description
This is an instrumental jazz piece combining a number of electronic elements in the background to provide a rich, warm, ambient texture. The mood is relaxed and meant to convey a warm summer's evening in the southern United States, at dusk, when the fireflies come out and you have to resist the temptation to jump up and catch one like you might have done as a child.
