Story Behind the Song

Inspired by the plaintive song of a solitary Pied Butcher Bird, heard in the wee small hours one morning, echoing from the bush at Noosa, Queensland. The birdsong forms the intro and coda to the piece; and I developed the body of the piece reflective of
