Description

Short Description of Song

A fun folksy song sung from the perspective of a couple of kids, telling what goes on when they are with their aunt Sue.

Story Behind the Song

I wrote this song for my Daughter Brooke and my son Jeffrey ( ages 5 & 3 respectively) using all real life material gathered from the things they tell me that go on when they are with my sister-in-law Sue. I made this recording mainly so they could hear

Lyrics

Yesterday I ask my mom and dad if I could go
Down to my aunt Sue’s house so I could learn how to sew
Little do they know what really goes on when I’m there
If they did they wouldn’t let me near

I brought my brother Jeffrey cuz he wanted to come too
There’s nowhere in the world we’d rather be than with aunt Sue
Cuz she lets us do the things that mom and dad eschew
Like watching Looney Tunes and Scooby doo

CHORUS
Aunt Sue, Aunt Sue
We just never know what you’re gonna do
Aunt Sue, Aunt Sue
You’re one of a kind, cuz this world can’t handle two

As soon as we got to her house we headed for the fridge
I pulled out some ice cream as we started to pillage
Jeffrey found some Hershey chocolate syrup in the back
And some whip cream to top off our snack

We headed for the TV as the sugar high kicked in
Fiddled with the tuner and found Nickelodeon
But our tummies weren’t satisfied and we could not sit still
So we ate some cookies till we had our fill

CHORUS

INSTRUMENTAL

My parents often wonder with a wee bit of concern
When we are out with our aunt, just what it is we learn
Well one thing I can think of is a lot of great new words
Like crap, heck, knucklehead, and turd

We also learn to use those words to maximum effect
When talking back to adults by saying “What the heck”
And how to stir up trouble with my brother Jeffrey
By giving him atomic wedgies

CHORUS

Well our Aunt Sue is a most unusual mentor
Cuz when God dished out the character Aunt Sue came back for more
But we like her just the way she is, and don’t want her to change
Even though she is a little strange

Her personal space issues are a peculiarity
But she always shines when facing any adversity
We love our Aunt Sue more than anyone we’ve ever known
Though her actions, my parents don’t condone

CHORUS X2
