I skip Sunday service, to do some bayou fishin’
Big mouth bass, beer, and sunshine, who needs that sermon
Suddenly the sky turns black, I look up and cuss
Puff of smoke, old outboard quits, then it rains like Noah's flood

Sometimes He kicks ya, right where He split ya
Remindin' ya who's boss
Little wake up call, bet He's havin' a ball
Laughin' His head off
I start pullin' these oars, man it's two miles home

Row in three hours later, drippin' wet but I made it
Dreamin' 'bout a nice warm bed, still ain't quit rainin'
Take out the keys to my truck, ready to go ashore
