Story Behind The Song
This song was written in probably about 1/2 hour. It was originally written in the key of C and was transposed later for ease and quality of vocal performance. I wrote it right outside of my dorm room outside in college, acoustic guitar in hand. It was just a time when I felt trapped, because my band and I were not yet signed, and I just dreamed of this place where I could go and play all the time. This place is the Rock Land.
Song Description
The "Rock Land" is similar to a worldly embodiment of heaven for each one of us. There are times we all need a break from the stress and struggles of life to get back to the beauty of simplicity and what is most meaningful. Or it can simply be the place you want to be that you dream most of going and the frame of mind that leaves you in when you think about that. The latter of the two is the meaning of the song for me.

Lyrics
Rock Land
V1:
Anytime you?re feeling down or alone
From the daily stresses of life,
And you don?t know where to go or where to turn to
I?ve got the solution to ease your mind.
Just hop in the Chevy and take a trip to that special place
Where all of your troubles disappear,
We call it the Rock Land though no one really knows its real name
It makes the fun in life reappear.
Chorus:
Welcome to the Rock Land, Leave all your worries at the door
Welcome to the Rock Land, It?s all you dreamed about and more.
You don?t have to rock a Rock Band to live a life you?ve always dreamed
Just take a trip to the Rock Land, It?s every person?s fantasy.
V2:
Many shows bring so many different crowds
Yet they all say the same thing,
They say your music frees me from what?s going in my life
And I know, ?cause it?s the same when I sing.
You don?t need a dress code, you don?t have to pay a dime
Rock and Roll?s a thing that?ll never die,
So take a trip to where the drinks are free and the women are so fine
And after you come along, you?ll know why.
Chorus
Bridge:
Everybody wants to be a rock star
But if you believe, you?re already there,
Once you make your life a Rock Land, the locks are
You can do anything you dreamed of; all I?m trying to do is take you there, C?mon.
Guitar Solo
Chorus (Repeats)
