Lyrics
If I Didn't Have You
by Robert Linson
without you my life would be like doing time
i'd be running into walls just like i was blind
it'd be like drinking vinigar instead of wine
if i didn't have you
i'd be a navigator who had lost his way
or a politician who had nothing to say
without i'd be the one who had to pay
if i didn't have you
(chorus)
i need you like the sky needs blue
like the ocean needs deep i need the promise that you keep
i need you like the night needs day
and i wouldn't have it any other way
i'd be a broom that no one ever used to sweep
or the time of day no clock would ever keep
i'd be right up that creek, oh yeah, i'd be in deep
if i didn't have you
(repeat chorus)
end
(optional chorus)
i need you like the sky needs blue
like a ship needs the sea, i need you here with me
i need you like the night needs day
and i wouldn't have it any other way
Passenger Notes For The Driver
the optional chorus was added after i registered the copyright. i re-wrote the chorus because of the rhym words keep and deep. since they also appear in the third verse i felt that it may have been a little too redundant even though the two uses are reversed and bring to mind different references. your comments on copyright and changes are openly welcome.
