Story Behind The Song
I wrote Sing To Me while listening to a lot of Buddy Holly, Chris Isaak, David Bowie and Johnny Cash. I was inspired to say, "Thanx".
Song Description
Sing To Me is about paying tribute to the great Sun Record artists (Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Roy Orbison). They helped pave the way for the rest of us that have ever created music in our garages, basements, and living rooms. Their music was simple, yet the people and the times they lived, were quite extraordinary.

Lyrics
SING TO ME
words & music by James A. Nelson 012904
THEY CALLED YOU ROCKABILLIES
BUT YOU WERE JUST GOOD OL? BOYS
YOU SANG YOUR SONGS OF FREEDOM
BECAUSE YOU HAD NO CHOICE
YOU SANG OF LOVES THAT HAD COME AND GONE
ON THE BY AND BY
YOU SANG WITH THAT LAZY DRAWL THAT
JUST MAKES US WANNA CRY
SING TO ME
LET ME HEAR YOUR VOICE
SING TO ME
OF THE GOOD OL? BOYS
THESE KIDS THEY SAY YOU?RE OUT OF STYLE
OLD FOGIES AND OLD HAT
AIN?T THAT JUST WHAT YOU ONCE SAID
BACK WHEN YOU SANG YOUR SONGS ABOUT THAT
THEIR QUOTE UN QUOTE ORIGINALITY
CAN ONLY BE TRACED BACK TO YOU
SOMEHOW, WE ALL FORGOT ABOUT THAT
BUT HEY NOW, WHATCHA GONNA DO?
SING TO ME
LET ME HEAR YOUR VOICE
SING TO ME
OF THE GOOD OL? BOYS
