Description

Short Description of Song

upbeat modern pop-rock rendering of song reaching out to a hurting freind

Story Behind the Song

This was actually written for serveral friends who had been victmis of domestic violence. Though it contains serious subject matter, & admits an awkwardness of not knowing what advice to give, it offers hope and friendship.

Lyrics

Always

It’s hard to say how it ever got so crazy;
Because somehow I was not expecting this.
It’s hard to see when transparent turned to hazy,
And when all the colors vanished in the mist.

It’s hard to say how it ever got so zany;
And exactly when the sky began to fall.
It’s hard to see, are the clouds predicting rainy;
Will umbrellas still protect us after all?

I don’t know how to tell you when you should go;
And I can’t say if it’s safe for you to stay.
I won’t mind if you turn and run just like the wind.
All I know is you’ve always got a friend…always.

It’s hard to say how it ever got so twisted;
Or the twig on which we tripped along the way.
It’s hard to see things we never knew existed,
Til tomorrow’s dreams lie tangled in today.

It’s hard to see into happy ever after
When our hearts are lying scattered on the floor.
But I believe with some faith, and love, and laughter,
We can still find hope while walking out the door.

I don’t care much for taking sides,
Fairy tales or circus rides,
And all the things they say we should have tried.

I still believe in life forever,
Love that lasts through any weather,
And a kiss that makes the heart feel better; makes the hurt feel better now…
