Story Behind The Song
The issue of the song is a personal matter, that I've tried to make universal by viewing it from the outside. The melody and harmonies of the song came quickly, so most of the work were the lyrics. I have three sets of lyrics for the song; the first one became quite a cliche and had the more typical "boy-longing-for-his-girl" kind of issue. I figured I had to write something that really meant something to me, that is always, NO exception, the best way to write songs, so I came up with the second lyrics: They became way too personal, so I kept the idea but tried to distance myself from the whole issue. That's how the third set of lyrics, which have been recorded here, came to life.
Song Description
Mellow, melodic song about sticking to one's family instead of leaving it behind all the time for numerous reasons. It is a personal song, that I have tried to make universal by viewing the issue from the outside. It has a 3/4 folk-rock style but with a more modern production. It has quite a traditional structure with intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus.

Lyrics
Verse 1:
So you?re ready to go back again to your job
And your job?s far away from here
All your stuff?s in your bag and your jacket is on
You?re ready to leave
These long moments keep tearing your family up and they speak from the heart
When they beg you won?t you stay
Chorus.:
Won?t you stay with your dear ones a few hours more
Won?t you stay, are you really that eager to walk out the door
Won?t you stay
You keep breaking their hearts every time you?re away
Won?t you stay
Verse 2:
Your ambitions they get in the way of the life
That you say you?d like to lead
Steady father with sweet little kids
And a wife that you?ll never leave
So what?s the point of a family that you never see
They speak from the heart when they beg you
Chorus :
Won?t you stay?
Bridge:
Now the pressure?s on you but you?ve made it yourself
Do your journeys abroad really make you feel well
?Bout yourself, ?bout your heart
You could make a good home but you?ve ripped it apart
Shall you go on like this, shall you call it a life?
Shall you, will you, won?t you?..
