Story Behind The Song
I was almost asleep at 5 am when this song came out of me while I was laying down on the sofa in the TV room. I worked on it for the nest 12 hours.
Song Description
The song uses "progress" as something negative to avoid. The song speaks also to how key words are used by politicians and the media to elicit positive or negative reactions from the public. Progress in this context is used to mask things like decimation of the Native American People, calling Westward Expansion in early America - "progress." It's a wake up call. Now more than ever we must "jump out of the way" when we hear words that politicians us to mask what's really going on. Taking away civil liberties, messing with the constitution masked by words like "Family Protection Act," "Homeland Security," etc.
