Song Description

Song inspired by the gathering for my brother's wedding

Broadjam Member Reviews

Like the gritty voice, reminds me of Bruce Springstein style. The beginning of the song is good, I like the harmonies at the start, and I can see people sitting in the car singing along. There is a happy feel to the song and I enjoyed listening.

Lyrics

Welcome to Baltimore
Words and Music by Malcolm Todd Sloan of The Woodmen

Verse One

It's a humid town
When the sun goes down
Chesapeake Bay
On your wedding day
Welcome to Baltimore, welcome to Baltimore

Verse two

The harbor lights
It's a Saturday nite
We're down at Mick O'Shea's
Tomorrow's wedding day
I said welcome to Baltimore, welcome to Baltimore

Bridge

Baltimore's just one helluva town
Baltimore's where a good man went down
John's on the prayer and Tom needs "the Jack"
If only we'd called, Johnny Sack ....

Harmonica solo

Verse Three

Dial 395
I'm just barely alive
Chesapeake Bay
On your wedding day
(I said) Welcome to Baltimore
(I said) Welcome to Baltimore
(I said) Welcome to Baltimore

Welcome to Baltimore
(I said) Welcome to Baltimore
Welcome to Baltimore
Welcome to Baltimore
Welcome, welcome to Baltimore
