Short Description of SongSong about spring break in Texas.
Long Description of SongKids love spring break and do crazy stuff. This is an example from a 18 year old boys point of view.
Story Behind the SongLee Anderson was up here in Seattle from Texas, and we were finishing up a few tunes for his new cd project which I'm producing up here. We polished off a couple Alt country tunes and he had the idea to write a song about spring break in South Padre Texas. So we commenced writing this song. We figured burning a number would raise some eyebrows, but it's Texas music so we could get away with it. It's a very visual song. I had to throw in the bible reference (which has definitly upset a couple of my religious friends) but really... thats what spring break turns out to be... a bunch of drunk kids having sex with everybody they see... is it not? This one will definitly sell a lot of albums in Texas! I should have written Shiner Bock in there somewhere and it would go triple platinum!

18 years old, a rowdy young man
Leaving home without a plan
Heading down 30, lighting a fire
Burning a number, getting higher
Heading down the south side coast of this Texas land
Spring break in the South Padre Sand
Coastlines filled with beautiful girls
No better place to be in the world
If I had my way hell Id never leave
Just sleep on the beach, and drink for free
Living on the south side coast of this Texas land
Sweet dreams in the South Padre Sand
One week in heaven with hell to pay
Sodom and Gomorra sticking in your face
I didnt catch her name but she made me a man
Ill never forget the South Padre sand
Called my parents to send me some cash
Drank all my money, ran out of gas
I should probably go home and repent my sins
But you know next year Ill be here again
Living on the south side coast of this Texas land
Spring break again, South Padre Sand
Shell bring you to your knees, South Padre sand
