Lyrics

ST. NICKY IN ST. LOUIE
words and music by Ray Dahrouge and Sam Cooper (c)2007

(verse)
Making the rounds around the world, bringing gifts to boys and girls,
Took a break after Illinois, to hang out with his home boys.
The reindeer headed toward the west, they were tired and needed rest.
He saw the arch from miles away, he knew just where to park his sleigh.
He made a landing at the Landing, then he wanted to shoot some pool.
So Rudolph reared up like a stallion, and headed for the Pink Galleon.

(chorus)
It was St. Nicky in St. Louie, stopping at the hood.
Nobody played him for money , 'cause the knew old Kris was so good.
They'd be talking 'bout the Cards, he just smiled cooly,
Gave 'em a batch of baseball caps, he was St. Nicky in St. Louie.

(verse)
There was a hangout on the loop, everybody knows Blueberry Hill.
All of Chuck's children go there to see the master giving 'em a rock & roll thrill.
Everybody asked each other which high school they went to,
Then Santa discovered it was time for him to boogaloo.
So off he went with his reindeer team, above the clouds on a bright moonbeam,
But he'll be back in another year, to spread another round of Christmas cheer.

(chorus)
St. Nicky in St. Louie, stopping at the hood.
Nobody played him for money, 'cause the knew old Kris was so good.
They'd be talking 'bout the Cards, he just smiled so cooly,
Gave 'em a batch of baseball caps, he was St. Nicky in St. Louie.

He knew how to party, but never shirked his duty,
Knew went to leave each Christmas eve, he was St. Nicky in St. Louie.

Oooooweee...eight in the side!

Great stuff. I didn't expect to hear a Christmas song...and especially not a good one. Well done.

Amazing syncopated Blues piece! Great for dancing & just very uplifting! I love the vocalist, his husky voice really matches the music! The lyrics are really good! The piano rocks!

One of the best tracks I have heard on here so far.
