Lyrics

Verse 1:
A rainy night on a cold downtown street,
I pass by that café where we used to meet,
And as I walk by, a cozy scene meets my eye:
He?s giving his new love that same old treat.

I have to say she?s pretty, it?s true,
And it looks like she?s trying real hard to please, too.
Oh, it?s tempting to think I?d step in for a drink.
I could tell her just what he?ll do:

Refrain:
?Someday he?ll break your heart
Just the way he broke mine.
I know that?s a sure thing,
Just a matter of time.
He?ll find a brand new love
To fall for his line,
And then he?ll break your heart
The way he broke mine.?

(Instrumental solos)

Verse 2:
A rainy night, and the wind like a knife.
I tighten my coat and get on with my life.
A warning might ease my mind, but there?s no doubt she?d find me
As foolish as I found his wife...

Refrain
?Someday he?ll break your heart
Just the way he broke mine.
I know that?s a sure thing,
Just a matter of time.
He?ll find a brand new love
To fall for his line,
And then he?ll break your heart
The way he broke mine.?
