I have known a number of men who've been frustrated by their wiv'es' inability to believe their love and a number of women whose upbringing has inhibited their ability to believe and recieve love.

Song Description

The song starts with a man hearing once again (in the bedroom) his wife asking him if he loves her. He just has told her at dinnertime, and so he reminds her that his love hasn't changed. But he betrays frustration as he says, "I didn't say I wouldn't so I do". In verse two, we find out that her problem stems from her father's never telling her he loved her. In the bridge, the man tells her he will be there as she heals and then believes his love. The last chorus emphasizes that he didn't say he wouldn't so he will, because "when you got it bad as I do, there just ain't no pill".
