Lyrics

SHe was the first girl that I ever loved
Since I was seventeen
A few stolen kisses and several near misses
Some disasters in between

Hard as I tried it just didn't work out
Then I lost my house and crashed my car
Got on a silver bird and headed south
ANd ended up here in this bar

OJ and coconut rum
Be hell to pay when the mornin comes
But that's OK I got nowhere to run to
And no one to ask to forgive
String a hammock between two strong trees
Sail away on the island breeze
Dream of adventures on the seven seas
Of a live I never lived

Nice, chill song, reminds me of "wasting Away a Margarita" by Eagles. I liked the crystal clear lyrics, easy to hear. I also enjoyed the subtle harmony, female singer faintly in background-nice touch

A very nice vocal performance. A lot of feeling in the singing, reflecting the wistful lyrics. Some great slide guitar also, and background vocals were sweet. A nicely balanced mix too. The song structure was coherent and had nice harmonic balance, within the genre. There is real emotion in the song and it comes across in the performance. I think this has real commercial potential and I could imagine hearing it on the radio. It comes across as genuine and warm. I really enjoyed it.

This writer tells a darn good story! The "island feel" comes across right away in the intro, then he launches into his sad, but rather funny story. I love the way he brings in the famous quote, "It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all" VERY clever. The word pictures are great, hammock strung between 2 strong trees, what happened in the bar. Just a really great story with some humor laced in there (better find someone else to drive). Vocals are clear and nicely delivered. Great instrumentation. Totally original and fun. Bravo! Keep up the great writing!

This song has a sweet Caribbean-country Jimmy Buffet sound. The vocals are perfect as well as the instrumentation and arrangement. I authentically enjoyed listening to the song for the overall quality of the recording/singer/melody/vibe. Well done! I could definitely see this being placed in a film/Tv
