Lyrics

ME AND THE MOON

I'm alone in the darkness
I'm alone on the street
In this city of strangers
That I never will meet

These first days of November
Bring that ominous chill
That cold isolation
That strangles the will

That conjures the feeling of lost and alone
A tender heart in this city of stone
It seems my only friend now is that cold, silver balloon
Oh tonight, it's just me and the moon

Once there was light
In this dreary place
The sun shone bright
On her beautiful face
Those eyes, those lips
Those days were eclipsed much too soon

I'm alone in the darkness
I'm adrift on the sea
I'm consumed by the hunger
For some warm company

I don't know where she is now
Probably far, far away
On some tropical island
Where the tall palm trees sway

And the scent of her perfume is locked in my brain
The sweetest mixture of pleasure and pain
Once we danced closely to some sweet lover's tune
But tonight, its just me and the moon
Oh tonight, it's just me.......me and the moon

What a great tune! Great vocal, lyrics, hook and a sweet arrangement. This is the good stuff. Just wow.....best thing I've heard in quite a while.

I don't usually listen to this genre but this is phenomenal

Excellent song. It should definitely meet the criteria for SEVERAL of the opportunities presented on this site. It is smooth, the arrangement is great, and the instrumentation couldn't be better. The piano is great. The horn is wonderful.

Wow this is really weird, you reviewed one of my songs so I went to check out your page and picked me and the moon to listen to as an example of your music, then cam over to review music and picked Jazz genre to review and hit play and it was the same song, What a weird coincidence
GREAT SONG

Very very good song. It was a joy to listen too. The instrumentation is spot on. Played and mixed very well. Trumpet solo's were full of class. The vocalists tone and delivery matched the mood & sound of the song very well. The lyrics and hook made me want to have a dirty martini with olive and a smooth cigar!
There is a nostalgic quality about this track that I really enjoyed. Great work....Bravo!!!

Nice, soulful piece that would sound great in any lounge. Instrumentation and vocals complement each other very nicely.

Beautiful introduction. I love that brass. Great instrumentation..piano, rhythm section, percussion all excellent. Great lyrics which suit the ambience of the song perfectly. A compelling vocal performance. Lovely instrumental bridge at 1.50. The fade out works really well for a song like this. Overall a great song.
