SPOKEN WORD:
36 year old Doug Segal hemophiliac who contracted AIDS died of the disease on Saturday.................My name is Doug Segal..I have been married for almost six years I have three small preschool children and I have AIDS.

He was 36 years old had three kids and a wife
He suffered for two years when AIDS took his life
They laid him in a wooden box, a shell of a man
Leaving this world early was never his plan

His death was reported on TV that night
They talked about his courage and how he put up a good fight
His family they would cling to memories never lost
There was no price he had to pay but dying was the cost

CHORUS:
It is easy to live life when it is good
Dying with courage is how he withstood
He tried to teach his children not to be sad
To live each day as if it was the only one they had

Just before they buried him his little boy cried
Mommy let me see my daddy one more time
She couldn't find another way to comfort him that day
She opened up that wooden box where his daddy was laid

SPOKEN WORD:
His greatest fear was not death but that his young children would forget daddy when he was gone.....Because they are so young now there stands a very good chance of them not even remembering who I am without be shown by means of video tape or pictures....I think what I am trying to do is build memories because that is where I'll live on....in memories in people's minds..in my children's mind and I hope that i am someplace where i can watch over them

He wiped his tiny tears with all the strength he had
He was just a six year old boy who loved his dad
He took his little brother's hand and with tears in their eyes
They walked up to that wooden box and together they said.....goodbye

CHORUS:
It is easy to live life when it is good
Dying with courage is how he withstood
He tried to teach his children not to be sad
To live each day as if it was the only one they had

CHORUS:
It is easy to live life when it is good
Saying goodbye is how he withstood
His daddy tried to teach him not to be sad
To live each day as if it was the only one he had

SPOKEN WORD:
their family says they will cling to memories never lost
