You're My Melody

Story Behind The Song

This is a song about new love. About falling for someone so hard that you can't get them out of your head, and they immediately become part of you...like a melody that you can't shake. Being around them sets off that part of your brain where everything is a song, and they embody that tune.

Lyrics

Baby, you're my melody playing on repeat,
Stuck in my brain like a Johnny Cash song.
Girl, you've got me singing early in the morning,
And you run through my head, baby, all night long.
Yeah, you waltz right in like an old-time hymn,
Bring me to my knees like Amazing Grace.
And I'm singing like a soul set free,
'Cause Baby, you're my melody.

From the first time I heard you laugh, girl,
I knew I was through.
Yeah, you got my heart pounding
like that Friday Night drumline groove.

Then you looked my way, and like George Straight,
I'm lost in your baby blues.
Girl, I can't get enough of you.

'Cause baby, you're my melody playing on repeat,
Stuck in my brain like a Johnny Cash song.
Girl, you've got me singing early in the morning,
And you run through my head, baby, all night long.
Yeah, you waltz right in like an old-time hymn,
Bring me to my knees like Amazing Grace.
And I'm singing like a soul set free,
'Cause Baby, you're my melody.

Darling you send me, and I don't want to leave
Yeah, you're rolling through my mind
like jasmine on a summer breeze.
I'd be a storm with no thunder,
A beat with no drummer if I ever lost you.
No, I don't know what I would do

'Cause baby, you're my melody playing on repeat,
Stuck in my brain like a Johnny Cash song.
Girl, you've got me singing early in the morning,
And you run through my head, baby, all night long.
Yeah, you waltz right in like an old-time hymn,
Bring me to my knees like Amazing Grace.
And I'm singing like a soul set free,
'Cause Baby, you're my melody.

I enjoyed listening to this song. It had a great toe-tapping feel right from the get-go. Great instrumentation and vocal arrangement. The lyrics were well were written and kept you hooked into the song. This could definitely go somewhere. Nicely done.

Love the summertime vibe to this song. Very nice laid back feel with a great message of love and hope. Nice lyrics, great vocals. I like the song's structure, keeps the listener engaged. I'm wishing you great success with this nice tune!
