Story Behind the Song

Sometimes's someone is so bad for you, that you still can't keep away, and any solution to bring them closer seems plausible, no matter how dangerous.

Loved it on every level. Michael Bublu' and John Legend style , tone, arraignment, More of a smooth jazz ballad than a traditional blues but songs like this have all of those elements. Love to hear more. Somebody should sign this artist. Great lyric story and hook chorus.

    - ROGER BOLT

good song, came under blues but its more of a pop rock track
dramatic ballad that is quite commercial, i liked the structure and music and dramatic nature which suits the lyrics well, nice performance

Lyrics

THAT'S HOW I KNOW
(Simon Finn)

Your love has made a fool of me
I should write you into history
You cheated and you lied
You walked away but I still had my pride

But it seems I have a soul to sell
And we're going to meet again in hell
Two criminals, different crimes
I'll see you on the other side

It was a bitter blow
I cried
I never felt so low
I tried
Can't seem to let you go
But though I know it's wrong
It turns out that I'm not that strong

Loving you's my guilty secret
Can't confess it
I can't keep it
Baby that's how I know
Baby that's how I know
I crave you like a dirty habit
I can't kick it
I can't hack it
Now you've been and gone
That's how I know

My friends are full of good advice
They wouldn't let it happen twice
Once bitten no return
A lesson I don't wanna learn

I'm coming back for more
Just friends
Something we could explore
Revenge
Something you can't ignore
So kill those violins
Cover me
I'm going in

Loving you's my guilty secret
Can't confess it
I can't keep it
Baby that's how I know
Baby that's how I know
I crave you like a dirty habit
I can't kick it
I can't hack it
Now you've been and gone
Baby that's how I know
Baby that's how I know
You were the one

There's a shadow where your soul should be
There's a hollow where your heart should beat
But I wake up without you and I can't breathe
Baby that's how I know

Loving you's my guilty secret
Can't confess it
I can't keep it
Baby that's how I know
Baby that's how I know
I crave you like a dirty habit
I can't kick it
I can't hack it
Now you've been and gone
Baby that's how I know
Baby that's how I know
You were the one
But now you're gone
But now you're gone
