Song Description

The daily awakening of a lost soul. Looking for love "in all the wrong places" while behind her is a true love just waiting.

Story Behind the Song

This young girl truly believed that she would find her true love while cruising the clubs and neighborhood, to no avail. She was oblivious to the one soul that could end her search.

This reminds me of Bread/David Gates and Kenny Loggins (Watching the River Run). Not a current sound but a very good one. Nice vocal performance and chord choices. There's a very personal touch in this, and there are bound to still be plenty of fans for a mellow romantic sound like this!

Lyrics

As Daylight breaks above your bed
You waken to a song
All you really wanted was someone to sing along
Feel so empty though you're not alone
You walk the streets to find another love
When all the time
There was me, walking behind

Motionless your heart has stalled it's holding back once more
Peeking out the windows, locked behind the door
Your eyes elude the night before as he readies now to leave
Turns to hear your answer to "My darling did I please?"
What they're doing to your nights you bring upon each day
Hoping for a change of life as deeper digs the blade

Daylight falls above your bed you waken to a dream
Gaze into your mirror, life is what it seems
Love slips through your anxious hands, faster every day
Listen to your heartbeat turn around and stay

If this were a tiny town I'm sure you wouldn't hear the sound of my heart steppin away.
Away...
Away...
Away...
