Genuine is a true story. A male friend of mine who I've been close with for the better part of my adulthood starting dating a new girl. She was the jealous type and mistook our affection for more than it was and started trash talking about us that we were having an affair. It just wasn't true. I was and still am happily married and he was totally in love with her, even tho she didn't see it.

Song Description

Genuine is a story about a woman living an honest and genuine life. She's faithful and truthful with her friends and family. She values her friendships above all. Then a very dear friendship with a man comes into jeopardy when his new girlfriend mistakes their affection for more than it is. The girlfriend spreads lies and rumours about an alleged affair between the woman and her friend. When the woman finds out, she nips the whole thing in the bud with a face to face confrontation and a scolding that sends the girl packing.
