The lyrics were really touching and important. You sang it very well, I liked the song a lot. It invoked emotion, which is what a good country song does.
This really does a great job of building....starts sparsely like it's gonna be a Pete Seager tune...then drums and backs come in...always something along the way to add to your interest.
Lyrics are very well done..but not too graphic...considering the subject matter...too graphic and this song will never get a chance...

Somehow I think I have heard this song before....are there 2 versions of it on BJ? At any rate I like it a lot. I liked the intro, somber and sweet. I can't help but wish you had kept with that mood. It was so upbeat, but the subject is so sad, yet hopeful in a way. Skillful writing, great subject matter (so needed). Effective word pictures grab the listener in verse one.
