Song Description
Friday Night starts with a short drum intro which is joined by the rhythm section after 4 bars.
The guitar takes the melody for the head which presents the main theme of the tune. The head of the composition is a 32 bar A-A-B-A.
The piano takes a chordal solo over 2 choruses. A short interlude sets up a change of feel to lead into the guitar solo which is played over an open Latin groove. After 2 choruses of guitar solo the tune calms down and introduces a one chorus bass solo. 'Friday Night' finishes with the main theme.
'Friday Night' is composed by Dublin based composer and Jazz guitarist Mathias Baumann and performed by MBQ (Mathias Baumann Quartet)
