NEWS! Tim and Cindy have joined the Platte Valley Boys after the retirement of Jim Stebbins in November 2007. Tim and Cindy were inducted into the Mineesota Rock and Country hall of fame for their previous contributions as Platte Valley Boys, and look forward to performing again with "the boys". They will also continue to perform as a classic country and bluegrass duo.

Tim and Cindy Roggenkamp have been entertaining audiences with their brand of bluegrass and country music for over 30 years. As a duo as part of The Platte Valley Boys, they provide exciting and heartfelt performances of traditional bluegrass, classic country and original songs.

Tim and Cindy are available for your event as a duo, playing acoustic country, bluegrass and folk music, featuring Tim on acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo fiddle and dobro and Cindy on guitar. They also feature their close duet harmony singing that they have been perfecting for nearly 30 years.

Tim Roggenkamp

Tim Roggenkamp is a multi-instrumentalist and plays hard-driving banjo and sings lead and harmony vocals with the group. He is also accomplished on the guitar, mandolin and bass.

In 1999, Tim released a solo CD entitled, ?Northern Lights?, which received very favorable reviews in Bluegrass Unlimited and Inside Bluegrass. The CD, including several original songs, has received national and international airplay and was featured in the nationally distributed Prime Cuts of Bluegrass.

He has played in many prominent bluegrass bands in Minnesota, including The Bluegrass Union, Dick Kimmel and Company, The Platte Valley Boys and The Lonesome Tradition. He has also played in several country bands on electric bass and lead guitar.

Tim owns Lakes Music and www.PlayBetterBluegrass.com, a retail, internet and catalog business specializing in bluegrass instruments, accessories and instructional material. Tim produced and engineered both of the Lonesome Tradition CD's at his studio at Lakes Music.

Tim and Cindy also started the Lakes Bluegrass Festival in 2002. They have brought national and regional acts into their part of Minnesota and have received rave reviews for the quality of the shows, workshops and management of the event. The festival is held every year and the Cass County Fairgrounds in Pine River, MN the weekend prior to Labor Day Weekend.

Cindy Roggenkamp

Cindy Roggenkamp is the bass player with the group and also sings lead and harmony vocals. She is a rock-solid bassist and provides the rhythm foundation for the ensemble. She has performed for many years in both bluegrass and country groups, and is also an accomplished rhythm guitar player.

Cindy has a strong lead and harmony voice that blends smoothly with both male and female vocals. She puts a great bluegrass twist on several classic country songs from various artisits ranging from Don Gibson to Kitty Wells.

Cindy began in music as a drummer, then played rhythm guitar in church groups and country bands. As her interests turned more towards bluegrass, she picked up the doghouse bass and quickly became a very proficient player.

Cindy's enthusiasm on stage is infectious and her easy smile makes the show just that much more pleasant.
