Redd is a six piece R&B/World/Reggae/Alternative pop/Jazz/Funk/Trip Hop/Blues/Rock/Celtic/Fusion/Among other things band, based on the Big Island of Hawaii.Their songs utilize an unusual mix of musical backgrounds in what seems like an impossilbly natural flow through different genres. Ros Sinclair (keys/vocals) met Stephanie Tatum Ford (vocals) shortly after arriving in the Islands from Britain. Their innovative and unusual style set them apart from much of the local music scene at the time.Shortly after they were joined by Scotty Nelson (keys/vocals),and later attracted like-minded musical adventurers Jeff Quin (electric guitar/fiddle),Joe Barry(bass/dijeridoo) and Orlando Smith(drums/MC). Sinclair band founder and writer of most of Redd's material was influenced by the dance scene in British clubs, and the Indie/folk/Brit Pop/Rock of the 80's and 90's. Redd are gaining an eclectic following who enjoy the unexpected, thought provoking lyrics ,and getting their groove on and on.
