Kevin C Barber is a singer/songwriter/guitarist with over 30 years' musical experience behind him playing live in just about every kind of venue and recording 8 albums both solo and collaborative. His refusal to be 'pigeon-holed' has led to frustration from some fans loyal to one particular genre. Kevin both plays and writes in several genres including folk, country, blues and swing. He also loves opera and 1930s dance bands in particular.
He plays guitar, slide guitar and mandolin but would describe himself above all as a singer especially in the mode of story-teller. Original songs are mixed with classic covers and old-time blues and country standards to create a non-genre specific catalogue. His writing is diverse in subject-matter from the political to murder ballads, from the light-hearted to the serious. He writes about loss, regret, hope and eternity.
