The influences for SoLa Groove, lIKWUID eKLEKTIK and Tom T & Co come from south Louisiana and beyond. Between what was going on musically in Louisiana and what I've been drawn to, I have been exposed to a world of music.
On the more progressive side, these influences can be heard in the music of SoLa Groove. A combination of instrumental textures, poly-rhythms and counter melodies are the driving force for the most part. There are however, rhythmic subtleties that dress some songs..simplistic in nature but just as effective as a gentle moving river.
A mixture of influence with Tom T & Co including R&B & Jazz overtones on top of strong, simple Reggae rhythms as a base. Melodically, this can go from sophisticated with lush background harmonies to simple and sweet.
More than anything else with SoLa Groove and Tom T & Co, everyone involved made it a point to enjoy themselves. We do have fun. Grab a cup full and enjoy.

Hi Tom, Thanks for your thorough and accurate review of "Thirty Year Kiss", it's not my usual style and I'll bet you were surprised to see it was me. Yes the mix is low end heavy. It was recorded and mixed more than 5 years ago before I had a sub-woofer and before I learned more about mixing lol. Thanks buddy! Dave

Hey T Tarpley thanks so much for the really thoughtful review of Living in the Trees!! (I get the Steve Miller a lot, and I'll gladly take it). I'm digging your ethno/world/new age tunes too!! ~Jeff
