I am singer/songwriter. I put out my first album in 1996 after playing bars and taverns and mixing my songs in with covers. I became Canada's first Independent Male Artist of the Year with the C.C.M.A. in fall of 1997. I went on to win West Coast Music Awards for Best Country album in both 2001 and 2002. In 2003 I became the first independent Artist to win Roots Artist of the Year with the C.C.M.A.. To date I've had 17 music videos that were carried on CMT, since then I've been nominated more and subsequently released another 4 albums since my debut and now am finishing up work on my 6th album to date.
In 2009 I released my debut in the U.S.A. and have had two songs chart nationally there since on Music Row's chart. Life is a work in progress. At the end of the day I think one should be striving to some good ends in accordance with their own best gifts. Cheers, and do follow your musical bliss.
Sincerely,
Sean Hogan

Bio as of late May 2011

Travel Plans,I'd Rather Have You, Vulnerable, Catalina Sunrise, Silver Lining Girl, Something Beautiful, Suck It Up, A Cowboy's Heart, Angeline, Heartbreak Song, these are just some of the songs that have earned Sean Hogan the accolades he's received to date. As both a writer and a singer the work he has done speaks for itself. However he is spoken of by fans, peers and industry alike as being an earthy, soulful, honest voice who's music has been balanced between contemporary Country and cosmic cowboy rock. Pick any of his albums and you'll quickly hear the truth in his songs and in "the heart" that is revealed. His music belies the consensus of opinion on the attractive and compelling quality of Sean Hogan's sound.

In his native Canada, Hogan has more than once been seen as the "dark horse" contender. In a little more than 15 years he'll have soon released 6 albums in Canada. 2009 marked the release of his first album to the U.S. Country music industry. He's scored with hit songs at radio in Canada, and seems to be gaining similar traction in the U.S. too with his recent U.S. album. with Suck It Up.

No stranger to winning awards for his music. Hogan has won multiple national C.C.M.A. awards including 1997 Independent Male Artist of the Year and 2003 Roots Artist of the Year. Regional awards such as West Coast Music Awards for Best Country Album, in both 2001 for his release "Hijacked" and then again for the album "Late Last Nite", 2002. In addition to these Sean has scored provincial Country Music Association awards like the 2005 Saskatchewan Male Artist of the Year, Best Music Video, and earlier on in B.C. with Rising Star Awards.

In 2004, inspired by a song he had written called "It's Christmas Time" Sean began the Canadian Country Christmas tour.  Now an annual touring event, the tour efforts have raised more than $100,000. to date for various national community charities, such as hospital foundations, food banks, child development groups, cancer research drugs, and many service groups including the United Way, Kinsmen and Kiwanis groups as well.
Hogan has also enjoyed great profile with music videos too. His releases have chalked up a remarkable 18 videos on CMT to date. His newest for Travel Plans another top 20 hit single he solely wrote which features the video shot in Southern California's, Malibu & Santa Monica in April 2011. new album his 6th tentatively called Phoenix slated for September 2011 release.

On a personal front in the fall of 2008, Hogan learned he would be Dad for the third time just as he was readying the U.S. release of The Southern Sessions.

2009 started off on the move for Sean, figuratively and literally. He moved to the West coast and Nashville with his music offices. In the summer of 2009, Nashville's internationally distributed Country Weekly Magazine reviewed Hogan's U.S. release of The Southern Sessions album and gave it the highest review of the week, perhaps portending the success of his first single to the national Music Row chart stations (Heartbreak Song) which then began climbing the U.S. charts before Christmas 2009.  It was another year where more recording artists in both Canada and the U.S. recorded and released Sean's songs on their own albums. Of course the release of the U.S. Country debut and working toward his 6th album in Canada took up most of his business hours in 2009.

Now, as 2011 unfolds, Hogan is pumped for all the possibility that lies ahead, and looks forward with great anticipation to the months ahead. In the past decade Hogan has had three albums in the Top 12 albums of the Year in the internationally distributed magazine Country Music News.
