After successfully producing the hit single as a young, writer musician "Stand By Me" for Spyder Turner in 1966, Magnet, worked in promotions for Arc-Kay-Jay, in Detroit. Hired by Motown's Quality Control Department a short time later, Magnet's job was to listen to every song that the label recorded.

Within two years, he was bumped up to Producer and worked with Gladys Knight and the Pips to produce their first hit single. "If I Were Your Woman", which he co-wrote with Gloria Jones and Pam Sawyer. It peaked at #1 on the R&B chart in January 1971 before breaking the top ten on the Pop chart the following month. He also produced the Temptations Xmas LP With the classic Xmas song "Rudolph" which has been played every Winter Holiday for the past 30yrs.

Other highlights of his illustrious career include work with Rose Royce, Undisputed Truth, the Supremes, Michael Jackson and the Temptations, The 4 Tops, Miracles and many others. Magnet is currently writing and producing and engineering,independently.
