Ed McCoyd is a songwriter in many genres including Latin, country crossover, pop, and retro rock. His song "Besame" (alternate spelling "Beseme") is played during the opening scene and closing credits of the 2006 Bruce Willis movie "16 Blocks," and is also featured in the new Samuel L. Jackson film "Cleaner."
"Besame" is performed by Latin singer and translator Edwin Perez, trumpet player Brad Mason, percussionist Emedin Rivera, pianist Jay Sweeney, electric guitarist Tony Di Lullo, and Ed on bass and acoustic guitars.
Ed's song "Clara" is played on satellite radio for national retailers. Popular songwriter and music publisher Janet Fisher wrote about "Clara" in a review for Broadjam: "Compelling vocal, very nice energy and performance. Terrific phrasing ... it made me want to listen. Wonderful guitars and percussion, full of life. There are some neat lyrical concepts here, too. The woman talks the man into buying her a mansion - Now he sits in the house alone, without love."
