I was born in a small coal mining town right outside of Charleston, West Virginia called Gauley Bridge. Life was hard growing up we had to struggle to get everything we had. As I think back now I'm amazed how we survived. We lived with my grandmother on occasion and having 15 people living in a 2 room house amazes me to this day. I remember many times sleeping on the floor and when the wood burning pot belly stove went out your toes would turn to popsicles boy I get cold just thinking about it. I try to always write about these life experiences to this day.
When you hear one of my songs listen close...some are true stories, some are fantasies, and some are just about life. Write what you believe in, Write about love, happiness and the joy of living...We are here as songwriters to make people happy and to make them think..
