Stephanie Heidemann has been performing Eastern European folksong, Indian Raga, Early American Gospel, Spanish Early Music and Chant for 15 years. With an upbringing in Venezuela, Germany, Australia & the U.S., she blends her intricate approach to world fusion with a style all her own. Haunting Sephardic melodies, African polymeter, Moaning Indian Raga, and Devotional Marien pieces demonstrate Stephanie's authentic soul-singing as the forte that make her so unique.
Stephanie had strong beginnings with "VIDA", a world acappella quartet managed by IMG-Artists that landed them on the cover of Billboard Magazine, scaling stages from Rockefeller Center to UCLA, singing Eastern European Ganga, songs of African Apartheid to Appalachian ballad.
Her Solo debut CD "The Cantiga Project", an intimate Portrait of Spanish Cantigas de Santa Maria has been highlighted nationally on NPR's "All Song's Considered" as well as on a Sounds True, inc CD Compilation "Songs of Mary".

Stephanie Heidemann has been performing Eastern European folksong, Indian Raga, American Gospel, Spanish Early Music and Chant since the age of 20. With an upbringing in South America, Europe, Australia & the U.S., she blends her approach of fusion to this ancient style of Spanish Music with a style all her own.
For 7 years, she toured nationally with a World Music vocal quartet, "VIDA", managed by NY's IMG-Artists. VIDA arranged & performed traditional & non-traditional World Music in concert halls everywhere from UCLA's Royce Hall, Rockefeller Center in NYC, Lincoln Center, the Hague Peace Conferences, to World Music Festivals all over the U.S.
She fell deeply in love with 13 Century "Cantigas de Santa Maria", and has been arranging, recording and performing them in the U.S. ever since.
With a B.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy from Indiana University, Heidemann richly explored improvisation and authentic creativity through expressive voice-movement settings and brings this influence to her music.
Heidemann also studied in depth with NY Metropolitan Opera Mezzo, Brenda Boozer, whose technique was unique in that she incorporated Kundalini Yoga into voice technique for an integrative practice. Boozer plans to join Heidemann in performances in 2007.
Stephanie also works/records with composer/producer and percussionist, Julian Douglas. Together, they form “The Resonance Project”- recording and arranging New Music with World fusion influences for film and performance arenas.
Heidemann brings her CD: “The Cantiga Project” as her solo debut, an intimate Portrait of Spanish Devotional music.
