Composer/Conductor, Singer/Songwriter, Instrumentalist Patricia Ju trained at the Juilliard School, live music pubs, and songwriter's events. She's thrilled to be back in NYC composing for live theater (the Beggars Group and Horse Trade Productions' "Armor of Wills," Jones College Prep's "Twelfth Night"), co-writing the musical "As You Like It!" with Jenny Bennett, and scoring film (Matt Finlin's "The Glass Box") and documentaries (Fly on the Wall Production's "Warren Easton" for Price Waterhousecooper). Ms. Ju's forte is in her chameleon-like approach to music, both performance and composition. She loves working with new genres, and has created works of pop, rock, contemporary musical theater, rap, "world" asian (aren't we all part of the world?), rockabilly, and others. She is an avid instrument collector and enjoys mashing up ethnic sounds and genres into cohesive art.

Enhancing Live Theater, Film, TV

Composer/Songwriter Patricia Ju trained in Piano, Composition, and Conducting at the Juilliard School, and put it all aside to pick up Guitar and popular Songwriting. Now she incorporates traditional and new music, and produces shows for independent songwriters and musicians that help charities across the US. (Co-/Coordinator, GoGirlsMusicFest 2000 & 2003 and NW Women Songwriters Showcase.)

Ms. Ju just completed a two-year stay in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where she was musical director for a Taiwan university, and where she co-wrote with partner Jenny Bennett a modern new musical As You Like It! based on Shakespeare. Recently back to New York City, she has developed live theater music and sound design for the Horse Trade Productions/Beggars Group production ofArmor of Wills, a fast-paced surreal adventure that turns life, death, and love all topsy-turvy.

One of her current projects is scoring The Glass Box, a new indie film out of Kaohsiung, Taiwan of two vastly different women, a Taiwanese bing-lang girl and a Canadian English teacher, who find friendship in a history of common struggles. Ms. Ju's revels in composing emotional support for theater, film, and TV, and her foremost goal is to get As You Like It! produced on Broadway.
