Anya bio

Anya was born in Oulianovsk, Russia on March 13th, 1986. Anya is a unique writer whose deep and warm voice contains the eastern melancholy tradition along with a powerful pop sense. This exceptional mélange takes her electronic music to a more melodic level.

From early childhood Anya is passionate about music. She grew up under the musical influence of her mother, a professional dancer and big fan of ABBA. As a young girl she is encouraged by her parents to start taking dance lessons in ballet, but in her mind the love for music and the dream of being a singer remains. At he age of 14, Anya joins a group of young singers as their choreographer, where her great voice is soon recognized by the band's singing teacher. Until her departure to France, Anya stays the leading member of the group and becomes laureate of various national song contests.

In 2002 Anya moves to Paris and joins a Parisian pop-rock band that performs on many open air festivals in France. This collaboration allows her to work with professional musicians and serves to strengthen even more her keen sense of music. At the same time, Anya takes lessons in classical singing in order to take her skills to an even higher level.

The year 2004 marks a change in Anya's career as an artist, as she gets in contact with Dorian Chaillou, label manager and owner of Sub-Continental Music, who becomes a great supporter of her singing career. In addition, Anya enrolls in a Parisian school of architecture, as this course of study allows her to act out her great enthusiasm for this discipline.

Now to the present day, where Anya is currently preparing for her university graduation, and she and Dorian have just recorded her first album in Sub-Continental's Paris recording studios. Consisting of 12 eclectic pop songs, the myriad of colors on Anya's musical palette are fully displayed on these recordings. With songs ranging from dance club numbers sure to fill the floor, to introspective songs of love and life, Anya shows a maturity and the ability to craft a song well beyond her 20 years.

The song " I Believe In Love" is a dance hit single in the making, as it has recently been released on a Scandinavian "maximum dance 12" compilation, as well as being licensed for the German and Canadian territories.
