Bio
Lisa Yves studied jazz improv at new York University with Joe Lovano and performed with Harry Connick Jr. at the Knockerbocker Saloon in NYC. Throughout college, Lisa Performed at many clubs around New York with her trio, The Yvesdroppers, as well as solo piano and voice at many piano bars in New York. In 1993, Lisa was a featured vocalist on the Robert Miller album, Child's Play and a featured songwriter along with Jeff Franzel on the Kathy Kosins contemporary jazz release, All in a dream's work. Lisa also sang on the Honey Nut Cheerios national jingle. Lisa has worked with producer, Doug Berlent and performed at The Bottom Line Club in Greenwich Village with the group Roy G. Biv. Lisa was a first year particpant in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical theatre workshop.
In 1995, Lisa moved to Massachusetts and started working with young vocalists. Lisa has since produced three albums with her young beboppers called Jazz for Kids, Everybody's Boppin, Vocalese and On The Road. She hired Boston's best jazz musicians and recorded at a Westwood studio with Producer/pianist Brad Hatfield and Engineer Peter Kontrimas. Jazz for Kids has since won the Parent's Guide to Childrens media award in 2000, has been featured in The Boston Globe, Jazziz, Parenting and has been played all over the world.
Lisa is a member of the New England jazz Alliance and has performed at the Roxbury Jazz Festival and Winthrop Jazz festival. She has done workshops with kids on the rhythms and harmonie
