The TEAM showcases the skills of two extraordinary artists, Tell Ross and TA, along with America?s Award-Winning Urban Band.
Tell Ross, the oldest of 8 children born to a single mother in South Bend, IN, is the innovative rapper of this dynamic duo. As a young child dealing with the struggle of living well below the poverty line and with a drug addicted mother, Tell Ross turned to music at an early age. Bouncing between family members and foster homes, Tell searched for a better life which he found in education! In 2002 with help of a guidance counselor, Tell Ross became the first person in his family to attend college. This is where his exceptional lyrical skill would be forged. Using the experiences from a rough up bringing and merging that with the knowledge and vocabulary of a psychology major gave him a unique style. After several locally successful projects he caught the eye of an A&R from Taimis Records, Inc. and was signed in 2004 to become part of ?The Team?. ?Becoming apart of this group allow me to have a unique sound that separated me from other rappers!? said Tell Ross.
TA is the power and spirited vocalist that provides the melodic signature of the group. The Kentucky crooner, began his musical journey has a young singer in his church choir at 8. Growing up the youngest of three boys, music became a career early. Singing from Toronto to New York with a school show choir and participating in the local production of such musicals as ?Westside Story? and ?Phantom of the Opera?. In search of a better life and a place to exploit his talent, TA moved to Indianapolis, IN after college. Not long after that he and a friend from church decided to start a group from a small recording studio in his basement. Longing to make a serious impact in the national music scene, TA reorganized the group in 2004 to include Tell Ross and a full band. TA states, ?Almost every song on the radio has a rapper featured on an R&B song or vice versa. ?The Team? allow us to give fans what they want. They don?t want to choose between Hip-Hop and R&B anymore. They want both!!!?
In 2005 the group began touring and opened for such acts as FREE (former host of BET?s 106 and Park), Ronald Isley, Brooke Valentine, Carl Thomas, Shalamar, Morris Day and The Time, Mint Condition, LiL G (lead singer of Silk), and many, many more! The group quickly caught the attention of many music professionals and in 2006 was selected by both The Atlantis Music Conference and The Midwest Music Summit has one of the top unsigned acts in America. In the December 2006 issue The Urban Network Magazine writes ?The Team has reworked a tried and true formula into something fresh, hot, and endearing!? "This is a winning formula. This is something that has been tried a couple of times over the last decade; but the way you're doing it; I think is new and fresh," raves Bad Boy Worldwide's Creative Director and Producer Manager Dalton Hernandez.
