allowing music to form through her since she was 6 years old. cherie was trained on classical guitar for 3 years, then on to banjo. she has been writing and composing music for over 10 years. constantly refining and molding the music that freely flows through her mind. she then began to perform in clubs and coffee houses around Houston, Texas. in 2000, cheri was voted the "best musician that never plays in public" by the Houston Press. today she continues to compose, with enough material to spread through several albums. **note all recordings were done personally. cheri is a musician, not an engineer. with so much music in her head, she sometimes stears away from the natural expected "structure" of music, blending vocals and guitar work - without a 'hook' or chorus. a musicians mind does not have boundaries.

Bio

hiding in the closet, strumming the guitar since she was 6 years old. Classical guitar lessons for 3 years provides a wide range of 'fingerstyle' to every creation. After guitar lessons, she moved on to banjo lessons for a few years. All through mid and high school, she played trumpet for concerta band, symphonic band, marching band and jazz band. As if that wasn't enough, she moved on to Houston where she gathered her talents and began writing and writing.... trunks full of journals, 3 ring binders full of poetry and plenty of lyric books keeps her passion for composing music. Voted in Houston Press 2000 as the "best musician that never plays in public". live performance of her acoustic originals shows her literrally becoming one with her guitar. creatively wrapped around the strings as her fingers dance like wildfire over the frets to deliver a light and passionate, intense set of music.
*these recordings are as early as 1996 done personally, she is a musician, not an engineer. she has her own creative differences that sprout away from the general "chorus" format at times. this is much more appreciated during live performance as she naturally allows the music to flow from her mind, no matter what 'structure' is expected.
