We are an indie/brit rock style band. Our songs are mostly about coming to terms with things, so our name serves the purpose of getting people to recognize and come to terms with some of the bad foreign policy that our Country has had.
We are very proud to be Americans, so our politics are not about criticism, but reform. Besides, we are all of such diverse political factions in this band that we could never be partisan in our politics. There are a few important things that we do agree on however.
Politics aside, most of our songs are about life and responsibility. There are some love songs, but I have always felt that lyrics are more interesting when they have some meaning behind them and convey something practical.

Bio

Chemical Ali is socially and politically charged indie guitar-rock. Through our music we intend to bring attention to various social and political ills. Our influences include The Stone Roses, New Order, Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Flaming Lips, The Talking Heads, and The Clash.
The band formed in the summer of 2002, and began as a song-writing project of the now lead singer and rhythm guitarist. After a few months of writing songs, the rest of the members of the band were added, and Chemical Ali became a fully collaborative live act and song-writing collective. Chemical Ali has six members, involving two guitarists, a bass player, a keyboardist, a lead singer, and a drummer.
We have been touring the Midwest, playing live shows, and writing songs since. We have shared the stage with Black Mountain, Say Hi To Your Mom, Built Like Alaska, Murder By Death, The Roots Of Orchis, Girl is a Ghost, Reach, and Elevator Division. We are being played on the radio in Washington D.C. and on a few Internet stations. We have been contacted by a number of record labels, but are yet to make a deal.
Our live performances are well-executed, swaggering, loud, sweaty, and cathartic. Typically, audiences tell us that our live sound is much better than our recordings. We love to play live, and that's about it.
