Lonnie is a consummate singer, songwriter and arranger for Doo Wop & R&B. Has 9,000 songs written. Sang lead in The Fandangos, Flamingoes, Five Stars, and Del Rayes.
In 1962, as a vocalist, he won an audition for a two-week gig at the Purple Onion in San Francisco and became the first Black Program Director in L . A. FM radio.
In 1967 he wrote "I Thought You Were Mine" for The Natural 4
and he became CEO/Founder of The Doo Wop Hall of Fame in 1987.
