My songwriting ideas come from internal inspiration and external situations that spark a creative moment. In my world, ideas are always set to music. Music has been part of my life as long as I can remember, but my venture into songwriting came during college. My first collection of songs was recorded in a small, home studio. That first album led to more songwriting, singing and playing drums on my songs, and eventually being a published artist through BMG Worldwide and most recently being a featured artist on JogTunes. I am most proud of my versatility of music styles. This is very apparent on my album "Feel This Way" released in 2014. In 2015, however, I made an intentional choice to stay in more of a modern rock genre with my most recent album, "Industrial Rhythm & Groove". I wanted my songs to be even more movie soundtrack and commercial friendly.

Al Marcy

This 4th-generation, Chicagoland musician is proud to say that he gets his inspiration two ways: 1) there's an idea that just HAS to get out, and 2) external situations that spark creative moments. To Al, ideas are always set to music.

Al's music background started early banging on his dad's drum set for hours. With close family and relatives having much musical talent, it would have been difficult to escape it even if he wanted to. Al received his first drum set in 2nd grade - it was pretty exciting!

Al's musicianship grew by leaps and bounds in high school due to the sheer time he was playing with various school bands and jobbing professionally. In college, though, Al's creative juices really started flowing. Rarely without a recorder, he began his venture into the world of songwriting. Experimentation and trial and error led this young music maker to record his first collection of songs in a small, home studio. That first album led to more and more songwriting, singing and playing drums on his songs. It all led to being a sub-published artist through BMG Worldwide and most recently being a featured artist on JogTunes.

When asked what aspect of his music he is most proud of, Al is quick to point out his versatility of music styles. This is very apparent on his album "Feel This Way", released in 2014.

Al has just recently completed his latest, rock instrumental album, "Industrial Rhythm & Groove". Check him out at www.almarcy.com.
