Bio Winter 2013

Ultrea formed in March of 2012 when guitarist Greg Dellman and drummer Chris Swenson refused to let their music dreams die after their previous band, Black With Envy, fell apart. Their extensive history in music allowed them the opportunity to gather together the perfect blend of musicians to bring this project to life. Greg asked the former bass player of Sledgehammer Solution, Jason Wepking, to join them, while Chris asked childhood friend Jen Lecesse to come in on vocals. A few months into the project, Chris decided he was better suited to join Greg on guitar, and Jason contacted his good friend Brian Lawver, to take over the drumming role. This group shared the common goal to make music with a positive message, which is only fitting when your band name means "always persevere."

Ultrea strives to make music their fans can relate to. The men in this group lay down heavy guitar and drum tracks while Jen holds her own by adding melodic vocals and powerful screams. Their influences range anywhere from big brass bands to post hardcore metal, allowing them to create dynamic music that anyone can relate to on multiple levels. Fans and critics alike have compared them to bands such as Lacuna Coil, Evanesvence, and Skillet.

In less than a year together, Ultrea has released their debut EP, Always Persevere, which was recorded, enginereed and mastered by the memebers. They've also had the amazing opportunity to open for bands In This Moment, Two Dollar Grey, and CAVO, in some of Southern Wisconsin's biggest venues. They are currently writing new material as well as finishing construction on their recording space, 424 studios. All of their current material is acailable at all major online retailers, such as itunes, amazon, spotify, etc, or you can catch them live at one of many upcoming shows for 2013.
