BiographyOver the past several years I have had a lot of time to think about who I am and what I want to represent as an artist. I have a number of influences. Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Creed, Shinedown, Motley Crue, Blessid Union of Souls, John Mellencamp, Christian Rock, Journey and even a bit of country are just a few of them.
All things considered I aspire to be me. Genuine, honest, and positive. The lyrics I write accurately reflect me as a person and an artist.
The music you will hear on this website was cowritten by myself and Rodney Gene, a producer from Austin Texas. Over two years we crafted 17 songs together and built a unique following.
In January 2006 I released an album entitled "Lessons." "Lessons" produced 5 winning songs at song contests at www.freemymusic.com but most importantly, it allowed me to take tremendous strides in developing my musical sound.
In late 2006 I recorded four additional songs that improved my abilities as both a singer and songwriter. Eugene Foley of Foley Entertainment Inc stated the following about "Radio Song."
"Radio Song" is the coolest song I've received since being with Sonicbids. I love it!
"Life Without a Care" has followed suit with this success and entered the top 6 classic rock songs on broadjam on three occasions!
I have been placed in the broadjam classic rock Top 10 four times and some additional highlights include performing the National Anthem at numerous military ceremonies, performing as a solo artist, and placing second in the 2007 "Pope Idol" Competition.
So if your paying attention you have noticed there is a gap! No news from Sam Look since 2007! No new material since 2006!
For the past 2 years I have worked with a couple of bands, sang some covers and cowritten 7 songs.
Unfortunately I relocated and the band is no longer together. With that said, I have learned a lot about my strengths and weaknesses and have regained a focus and commitment to my passion as a solo artist. I have a new vision and a new plan.
My next release will be a remake of a song I have written several times.
It is called "Me Against Myself" and was rewritten because I felt I needed to recall a strong lyric and apply it to my life once again. It will have a new feel, but the core will remain the same.
I hope to finish an EP in the near future. In the mean time, stay tuned and stay blessed!
