Jeff Woodell is a singer-songwriter who grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and now lives in Seattle, Washington. When he was six years old, he started his music training with four years of classical piano lessons from Los Angeles magician, Mike Wong. Beginning at age 12, Jeff studied classical guitar and music theory at the University of Alaska. When he was 14, he taught himself to play the electric guitar from Metallica, Megadeth, and Joe Satriani tablature books and joined his first heavy metal band a year later. In 2004, Jeff wrote and recorded a collection of six folk songs that were subsequently released on his first EP, entitled "Pictures of Nothing." This album features acoustic hybrid picking, hushed vocals, and lush strings, with a style reminiscent of the late Elliott Smith. The title song, "Pictures of Nothing," will appear in the upcoming documentary, Red without Blue.
