Bio

I was born and raised in South Africa and my music is meant to convey the message of spiritual awakening. It is electronic and it is fusion. Some call it trance, but I think world is the best word here.

Living in South Africa allows one to explore a very wide range of cultures and belief systems. Also, music genres.

I was surrounded by the stuff American be-bop and rock and country on the radio, the Beatles and Abba and all that overwhelming melodrama of Queen, back in the seventies and eighties. Not to mention the Kwaito of the streetwise and almost-always African Johannesburg city slicker; the pennywhistle hybrid sounds and beats of local bands like Mango Groove and the Afro-New-Agey melodies of QcumbaZoo. They were all there, they and the usual crooning of Leonard Cohen and the Moody Blues and the rock ballads of Led Zeppelin a great melting pot of genres and sounds and beats.

I worked as a freelance DJ at venues all over the country, constantly blasting the dance floor with music and all the while working out for myself what effects different kinds of music had on my audiences.

As multi-cultural as my nation is, so worldy is my music a form of electronic fusion and world. The rhythms have a strong world-trance flavour, much like the Buddha Bar Collections and Cafe del Mar.

Lately I have enjoyed composing PSY Trance music.
