Album Description

Edmond Paul Nicodemi, already collecting royalties for his film-score and piano CDs, picked up by well-known television shows, and known for his eclectic 7-String jazz guitar style, has gone back to his first love, the Classical guitar, in this debut album. Stylistically a cross between the legendary Andres Segovia and the folk artist Bert Jansch, his playing is full of vitality and tender beauty. Whether he is playing a piece from the Renaissance, Villa-Lobos, or a modern original composition, the integrity of the music is always foremost. This is the first time that the exquisite Partita in A Minor by Anton Logy will have been recorded in its entirety in the 21st Century. This is also the first classical guitar CD to feature some of the greatest luthiers in the world, and some of the most brilliant guitar sounds. Brazilian Rosewood is one of the rarest woods to be found, and has a visual and auditory perfection all its own. All of the pieces on this CD are played on a guitar with a Brazilian Rosewood back, with the exception of Brazilian Rosewood itself. The instrumental version is played on a Spruce Top, with an Indian Rosewood back, made by Pat Caruso. In the vocal version, lyricist and vocalist Carol Nicodemi, with Ed's 7-String guitar accompaniment , compares the scarcity and fragility of true love to this rarest of all woods. The guitar used is a 7-String Cedar Top with a Pawfero wood back.
